2024 Mercedes-Benz Classe E
June 29 2023,
The imminent arrival of the 2024 E-Class is sparking a great deal of optimism. Especially considering that Mercedes-Benz isn’t in the habit of disappointing us when it comes to making significant updates to one of their models. Might we see another MotorTrend Car of the Year?
For 2024, the luxury sedan features a number of reworked aspects with regard to its size, performance and interior space. Another exciting development is the technology inside the passenger compartment. With regard to the dimensions, the automaker wanted to further distinguish the E-Class from the C-Class. The wheelbase is now longer, the trunk is appreciably larger and there should be more headroom for front passengers and more legroom for those in the rear.
The 2024 E-Class confirms the superiority of Mercedes-Benz
With its redesigned exterior, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class now boasts esthetics more along the lines of the automaker’s EQ series of electric vehicles. The immense grille, fluid forms and captivating headlights all contribute to the success of the vehicle’s overall look.
Mercedes has also improved the electronic architecture so that the E-Class now features a full-length curved MBUX Superscreen. On the center display, it offers new apps, including TikTok, Angry Birds, Webex, Zoom and Vivaldi. The ambient lighting can even groove to the rhythm of the music! Mercedes engineers have also integrated intelligent systems in such a way that the car can “learn” the preferences of each driver in order to create automated comfort routines. What’s more, virtually every possible driver assist technology comes standard.
High efficiency under the hood
The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will come in 350 and 450 versions. The first of these avails of a 2.0 L inline-four turbo engine with an integrated starter-generator, thus making the E-Class a mild hybrid. This powertrain produces 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, in addition to brief supplemental bursts of 20 hp and 148 lbf·ft. The 450 4Matic version includes the same auxiliary system. However, in this case, it works in conjunction with a 3.0 L six-cylinder turbo engine (375 hp and 369 lbf·ft) that’s noteworthy for its, power, responsiveness and quiet operation. Both models come equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Rear-axle steering and an air suspension system with continuously adjustable damping are optionally available.
